Richard M. Johnson, president, is a seasoned professional with 35-plus years of experience as a corporate communicator, writer and editor.
Dick counsels public and private companies in investor relations and corporate communications. He is passionate about innovation in life sciences and works with pharmaceutical, diagnostics and animal health groups. Dick writes web content, articles, white papers, news releases, annual reports and speeches. He is a board member of Association for Corporate Growth in Kansas City and is active in KansasBIO. Johnson Strategic is a sponsor of Financial Executives International in Kansas City. Dick is a longtime supporter of NIRI, the National Investor Relations Institute, and former president of the Kansas City chapter.
Before launching Johnson Strategic in 1997, Dick was director of investor and media relations for a global pharmaceutical company, Hoechst AG, and one of its predecessors, Marion Merrell Dow. He earned a BA in Economics from Princeton and an MBA in Finance and Management from Rockhurst and completed the University of Michigan executive seminar in investor relations. Dick has shared expertise on panels for NIRI, KansasBIO and PRSA audiences and writes a blog for investor relations professionals, IR Cafe.
Based on 17 years as an award-winning reporter and editor for The Kansas City Star, Dick understands how news media work - and he embraces social media.
Laura R. Johnson, account coordinator, supports clients with media relations, writing and editing, social media, direct marketing, event planning and project management. She earned a degree in Psychology from the University of Kansas.
Jacqueline M. Johnson, R.N., vice president, is a Registered Nurse and consults on healthcare communications and business development. Hands-on experience gives Jackie insight into the challenges of healthcare and patient education. She earned a degree in nursing from Johnson County Community College.
